The Design and Display:
Starting off with the size of these devices, the S9 Plus is larger when compared to the iPhone X. And to be exact, the S9 Plus is around 14.5 millimeters taller in terms of the height and 2.9 millimeters taller in terms of the width than the iPhone X. The weight of the S9 Plus is also more by 15 grams than the iPhone X, and the credit to that can be given to the larger display on the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus.
The display on the Galaxy S9 Plus is 6.2 inches and the iPhone X has a display of 5.8-inch display. Now that we are talking about the display, the S9 Plus has a Super AMOLED display and the iPhone X has a Super Retina Display. If you put the technical aspects aside for a moment then both these devices have a great display, the colors are very vibrant and they have got the deep blacks too.
These devices are known for their edge to edge display and yeah they are beautiful. The S9 Plus has an almost bezel-less display with the bezels even smaller than the previous generation S8 devices. Similar is the case with the iPhone X with an almost bezel-less display with a small notch on the top.
Both the devices have great screen-resolutions but the S9 Plus has a greater pixel density than the iPhone X. The S9 Plus has a resolution of 1960×1440 pixels with 529 PPI pixel density, whereas the iPhone X has a resolution of 1436X1125 pixels with 458 PPI pixel density.
Looking at the external design elements of these flagship devices, the iPhone X has a aluminum finish with glass on the front and back and looks and feels very premium. The S9 Plus, on the other hand, has a metal frame and curved glass panels on the front and back.
All-in-all, if you want a bigger display with the android operating system then go with Samsung S9 Plus or if you’re an Apple fan then you have the iPhone X.
Water resistance:
The Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus is a IP68 water and dust resistant smartphone whereas the iPhone X is a IP67 water and dust resistant. Not much of a difference here as well. But certainly, the S9 Plus has an upper hand here as well.
Colors:
The iPhone X has very minimum color options available with it, with just Silver and Black color variants. But the Galaxy S9 Plus has 4 color options – Midnight black, Titanium Grey, Coral Blue and Lilac Purple.

Hardware:
The iPhone X has an A11 Bionic chip which is the fastest processor from Apple till date and comes along with a 3GB RAM, the S9 Plus, on the other hand, comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chip or Exynos 9810 (depending on the market) and is coupled with a 6GB RAM.
Both the devices are very fast when we talk about the app load time, processing and ScreenFlow. But when it comes to multitasking the Samsung S9 Plus has an upper hand with its 6GB of RAM it can handle any number of apps with ease which is not the case with the iPhone X.
Software/OS:
The performance of any device does not only depend on the hardware but also on the software. The amount of optimization the OS does plays a major role in the device performance. The iPhone X runs on the latest OS from Apple – iOS 11 and the S9 Plus runs on Android Oreo with the Samsung UI on top of it. Both of the OS do their job in performance optimization so when the question comes to which one to choose, that is completely based on personal preferences.
