With the marginal growth of Apple, Samsung has settled to 2nd position. The tech giant has increased their shipments by 1.9 percent when compared to shipments in 2016. Samsung managed to give tough competition to the Apple, and it is going to launch their new galaxy series S9 at MWC 2018 in Barcelona.
Apart from these two tech giants, Huawei, Xiaomi, and Oppo are next in the race. Huawei has in the 3rd place and continued to hold on till the end of the 4th quarter with shipments of 41 million units when compared to the last year’s 4th quarter the shipments have been decreased by 9.7 percent. Xiaomi is in the 4th place it is the only tech giant with an increase in their shipments in the 4th quarter and doubled its market share from 3.3 to 7 percent over the third quarter of the previous year. Oppo has dropped one place and settled in 5th place with the shipments of 27.4 million units in the fourth quarter.
All tech-Giants had released their flagships and captured a greater audience. Brands other than top 5, had to struggle very hard to give tough competition. Apple, Samsung, and Huawei gave tough completion in high end and Oppo, Honor, Vivo, and Xiaomi gave tough competition in the low end.
