Micromax is back with the new Canvas Mega 2 Plus, Features, Prices and lot more..

In the recent months or may be years, Micromax has been out of action. The company last launched the Canvas Spark 4G with 5-inch HD display for Rs 4,999 in November last year. But yesterday on the 16th of March 2017, the company announced its new device – Micromax Mega 2 Plus. Looking at the specs, this budget smartphone from Micromax just might bring back the authority it had in the Indian market.

Price of the Micromax Canvas Mega 2 Plus

Since Micromax launched the device in the budget phones segment the pricing of this device is also in the same manner. The new Canvas Mega 2 Plus is priced at Rs. 7,499. That is a pretty decent price tag for the specs that the phone has, but we need to wait for the reviews before we give out our final verdict.

Features of Mega 2 Plus

Display

Taking about the display, the device has a IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors with 6-inch of screen and with a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels (~184 ppi pixel density). And yes, it does support multi-touch. The sad part about the display is that there is no Gorilla Glass protection available for this device.  But that might be just fine as it is a budget range smartphone.

The Canvas Mega 2 Plus runs on the Android 6.0 Marshmellow out of the box, and it is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor supported by a 2GB of RAM. The internal memory on this device is of 16GB and is expandable via MicroSD card. The battery on this device is huge, the Canvas Mega 2 Plus has a 3000 mAh battery which is great for a days usage. But we will have to see till the reviews come out on how performance and battery optimized this device is.

Camera

Talking about the camera, the Canvas Mega 2 Plus has a 8MP rear camera with auto focus and an LED flash and at the front there is a 5MP camera for taking selfies and making video calls.

Other features

The device has all the basic connectivity options like – Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, FM Radio and a microUSB port. Also, the device supports VOLTE so now you can enjoy your 4G services without any interruption.

If you are in a hurry and cannot wait for the reviews of this device to come out, and if you are looking for better smartphones with good reviews then you might want to go with – Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime, Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus or even the Samsung ON5 Pro.
