If you are a Oneplus fan and are waiting for their next flagship device in the series Oneplus 4 then you better let it go. This is because reports say the company may skip on the Oneplus 4 and directly jump over to the Oneplus 5. The reason for this decision is still unknown but many reports point to the fact that Chinese people believe that 4 is a unlucky number. Number 4 is considered as death in Chinese language and this might be the reason!
We all have seen Dual edge display in the Samsung S6 edge, this device received huge applause for the use of such technology. The dual edge display makes the checking of notifications and answering phone calls a lot more easier. It look like we might get to see such technology in the upcoming Oneplus flagship as well.
According to a Korean Portal, the Oneplus 5 will be sporting a 23 MP camera along with 6GB and 8GB RAM variants. Also, unlike the previous Oneplus smartphones, the Oneplus 5 might have expandable storage. The device is expected to come up in two storage variants – 64GB and 128GB with expandable storage option up to 256GB.
OnePlus 5 is said to be running on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system out of the box, and OnePlus OxygenOS UI on top of it.
There are also reports that the smartphone will be having a ceramic body and not a aluminium body as all the other smartphones have. The Oneplus 5 is expected to come out with a Snapdragon 830 chip set and powered by a 4000 mAh battery with Dash charging support which can charge up your device for a day’s usage in just 30 mins. Along with dash charge this new flagship might also come up with wireless charging support as well.
Oneplus does not have a release pattern unlike companies like Samsung and Apple. The Oneplus 3 was released in June, Oneplus 2 was released in July, and the Oneplus One was released in April. But reports say that the Oneplus flagship will be unveiled in the MWC 2017 (Mobile World Congress 2017) this year and will be ready for sales not late than June or July of this year.
